Florida fire photos

The Florida Division of Forestry has posted some photos that were taken at the Indian Hammock, Fort Drum wildfire on December 16. It was described as “20-25 acres, 14 homes saved plus 12 barns & sheds”. Here are a few examples of their photos – the rest are HERE. The captions were written by the Division of Forestry.

2 dozers trying to save another wood frame home. This home is on stilts. This community is Firewise -in thier homeowner bylaws they have mandated 30 foot defensible space. That is why there were no homes lost. Also - low winds was a contributing factor
