A truck pulling a trailer that was dragging a piece of metal or a wheel rim started multiple fires Thursday afternoon along Normandy Boulevard west of Jacksonville, Florida in the Maxwell area. The resulting fire, after all the original starts burned together, is now four miles long by one mile wide, and has blackened approximately 2,200 acres. Investigators are asking anyone who may have seen the truck to call 800-342-5869.

Jacksonville firefighters are estimating that it could take weeks for the fire, 50% contained Friday morning, to be completely controlled. They are hopeful that the chance of rain that was predicted for late Friday and Saturday may make that job a little easier.
