The map above shows the proliferation of smoke from wildfires in the western United States and Canada. It appears that much of the smoke in the United States was produced by the Silver Fire in southwest New Mexico.

  1. There can’t be hundreds of fires in Mississippi, Georgia, and Florida. Can the red dots signify bonfire-sized blazes?

  2. Thanks for your post. The wildfire smoke map is amazing. As a resident of Albuquerque, NM, I am more than a bit concerned with wildfires.
