The Oregon Department of Forestry has posted dozens of fire-related photos on their Flickr account. These three, taken by Mike McMillan, show ignition techniques during a burnout operation on the Rowena Fire, August 9, 2014.

  1. That’s a good one, we used that same trick on Biscuit (way back when) and Rim Fire last year. The only difference is taking a wrap with the P cord around the incendiary device and then a quick wrap with fiber tape to secure it…easy and less likely to slip loose and roll further down the slope than you wanted.
