Thanx for the wonderful photography. I’ve learned a bit about pine beetles and controlled burns – mostly thru Norbeck Society guest speakers. I’ve looked at photos taken at the turn of the 1800’s to 1900’s and looked at those same locations in more current photos and compared the forestation. Leave Nature’s beetles alone (spraying has to be detrimental to birds, butterflies and bee’s) and continue with burns with caution. Cold Creek’s burn at Wind Cave was, IMO, an honest decision run amok; unlike the burn up in the northeast corner. That’s me from my armchair.
Awesome
Very nice job. Looks like a lot of hard work with hand firing, no aerial ignition. Sometimes old school works much better. Good job SD.
Looks nice . How far from hot springs S.d.
Roughly 40 miles straight line
