Manitoban farmers adopt the practice of snow burning

Most Manitobans are aware of stubble burning – the controversial practice where farmers burn the stubble off their fields in the fall after harvest. Now in spring, many farmers are taking up a new practice: snow burning. They are literally burning the snow from their fields! They say it’s good farm practice, but environmentalists are worried about the impact.

Ryszard Hunka investigates this new controversial practice.

  2. Great one Bill. The fact of the matter is environmental nuts would actually attack this if it was real. I remember back when I was a boy and we use to burn crops towards the end of harvest season. I wonder where people think food comes from nowadays???
