  1. Another large grass fire in Lakewood burned 3 acres late Monday after people celebrated the Fourth of July. Although the cause of the fire near Kipling and Quincy is unknown, it was one of numerous grass fires that happened as people celebrated with fireworks Monday night.

  2. Served as a EMT for 30 years and the mixture of alcohol and fireworks legal or not, produced a variety of unique, very painful and often serious trauma and burn injuries. The term “Just hold my beer and watch this” were often the last pre-injury words of the victim(s). Having been a burn victim myself they are not pleasant. They also started numerous structural, vehicle and wildfires. The old firearms safety rule of never mixing gunpowder and alcohol applies to fireworks also.

      1. Idaho law allows the sale of fireworks that are illegal to use in our state. All a buyer has to do is sign a piece of paper saying they won’t use them in the state (wink-wink.) Insane.

        1. I’ve got my hoses, and extinguishers ready for my “here hold my beer.”neighbor who has rained burning fire works debris
down on my house and yard.
Couple of years ago he used a torch to weed his driveway
-set fire to his big arbor vitae hedge and almost the whole
          neighborhood.
Never have much fun on the fourth because of this idiocy…

          1. Since the phrase “here, hold my beer and watch this” is trademarked by the Big Sky Brewery in Missoula, I’m assuming you in Montana? Fireworks are still legal here, just not on Federal or State lands. DUMB!!!
