By sunset today, May 4, all evacuation orders will be lifted on the 12,628-acre blaze. Displaced residents are being allowed into the communities during a staged re-entry process beginning with those whose homes burned. Highway 87 will reopen at 7 p.m. today.

Firefighters are conducting burnout operations today on the northeast and east sides as conditions allow to further secure unburned interior islands within the fire perimeter.

  1. Sad seeing negative comments about any firefighters who are increasingly called-upon to battle fires ‘street-to-street’ in wildland interface where homes likely never should have been built.

  2. How can I find out who was on the crew in Clearbrook 9 when it came up the Canyon? I am three lots away from the Canyon and I would like to thank them personally. They were patrolling the roads all night long.

    1. Perfect 20-20 hindsight. Now give us the benefit of foresight: where should I pre-position resources for the next 3-5 months; who’s gonna win the Derby, the NBA & NHL, and who will the next Speaker of the House be?
