An air tanker working on a wildfire near Edson, Alberta, Canada was forced to make an emergency landing on Highway 16 Saturday night. The incident happened near Niton Junction, about 150 km west of Edmonton at 9:30 p.m. causing the east-bound lanes of the divided highway to be closed until the aircraft was pulled off the roadway at 2 a.m. Sunday. The pilot, the only person on board, was not hurt. The Transportation Safety Board of Canada and the company that owns the aircraft, Con Air, are investigating. The fire started at 7:30 p.m. and burned about 91 acres before it was controlled.
