PORTSMOUTH, Ohio (WSAZ) — Charges have been dismissed against a volunteer firefighter in connection with a wildfire in Scioto County, Ohio.
Back in April, forestry officials arrested Michael Thompson and charged him with felony arson. At the time of his arrest, investigators said that the fire on Mackeltree Road had burned 12-hundred acres in the Shawnee State Forest. Thompson was arrested after investigators said they found an accelerant on his person.
According to court documents, on Wednesday in Scioto County Common Pleas Court, the charges against Thompson were dismissed without prejudice after the “arresting agency failed to provide a complete investigation report.”
