Dry lightning predicted across Northwest today

According to the Predictive Services section of today’s Situation Report:

A low pressure system will move into the Northwest today with scattered dry thunderstorms developing across the Northwest, Northern Rockies, and possibly into Northern California. Mixed wet and dry thunderstorms will develop again today across the southern Sierra Nevada, southern Great Basin, Wyoming and Colorado, with primarily wet storms further south.

The National Weather Service is forecasting “abundant” lightning in eastern Washington and the northern Idaho panhandle this afternoon and tonight.
