From ABC15.com:
PHOENIX –-Court officials say three men have agreed to a $550,000 settlement related to a 70-acre wildfire in the Coconino National Forest in May 2003.
The wildfire, referred to as the Round Fire, burned south of Round Mountain in the Red Rock Secret Canyon Wilderness area, and was allegedly caused by an abandoned campfire not being properly extinguished.
Brad Cislini, Gary Griffo and Matthew Warnke failed to put out their campfire in the Secret Canyon region of the Coconino National Forest, according to U.S. Attorney spokesperson Sandy Raynor.
The investigation that led to the settlement was directed by the U.S. Forest Service and supervised by Assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of Arizona Robert K. Lu.
