The Cliff fire in Zion National Park has required that portions of the park be closed, including the Kolob Canyond District and the 5-mile Kolob Canyons Scenic Drive located at Exit 40 on Interstate 15.

Lightning ignited the fire on July 28, and another thunderstrom on July 30 slowed the spread. It has been mapped at 744 acres, with 350 acres being inside the park. It is 20% contained.
