In explaining to a reporter why the Everglades National Park is conducting a 1,500-acre prescribed fire, Rick Anderson, the park’s Fire Management Officer, said in part:
“If we don’t burn it when we can control it, it will burn when we can’t.”

What a novel idea as it relates to Prescribed Fire. I seems like it makes more sense to do this then to change the Federal Fire Policy to allow our Wildfires to become our Prescribed Fires. Seems like no one wants to do Prescribed Burns except the Southern Area of the Country.
