Federal grant provides wildland firefighting kits to Arkansas fire departments

Federal recovery funds are being used by the Arkansas Forestry Commission to supply wildland firefighting kits to fire departments in the state. The kits, valued at $3,000 each, contain chain saws, rakes, leaf blowers, and hand tools.

The Commission is also using a portion of the $3.6 million grant to buy six new dozers that will be stationed in northern Arkansas.
