Members of the 153rd Airlift Wing, Wyoming Air National Guard, begin the installation process of the Military Airborne Firefighting System 2nd Generation, or MAFFS 2, on one of the Cheyenne unit’s C-130 aircraft. Once the MAFFS 2 installation is complete, this C-130 and her crew, will be deployed to Dyess Air Force Base, Texas, to support the fight against the wildfires that have burned more than 1.5 million acres in west Texas. The Wyoming Air National Guard has been fighting Texas fires since April 18.
