Firefighters in the 1950s were cautioned in this film about what NOT to do, and advised to use the “modern method of fireline organization. Every man is working. Loafing is reduced to the absolute minimum”.

Some of the principles explained in the film are still valid today.

    1. I believe it was filmed in the Black Hills National Forest. It only worked with certain ground fuel types. Rock and roots caused more problems than it was worth.

      1. Y’know, I think the other photos of the Bosworth Fire Trencher that I have seen were also made in the Black Hills, an area with which I am familiar. What you say makes sense.
