A web camera near Santa Ynez, California is taking some fascinating photos of the Whittier Fire that started at about 1:45 p.m. PDT Saturday near Camp Whittier on Hwy 154 near Lake Cachuma approximately seven miles east of Santa Ynez.
The fire is on the Los Padres National Forest. At 6:56 p.m. Saturday they estimated it had burned 330 acres.
Hwy 154 is closed from 246 to State Route 192.

It is Hot Springs Canyon, not Cold Springs
I haven’t heard Cold Springs Canyon area mentioned. Is it in immediate danger?

Hi Bill, My name is Rick and my parents live on Savona Ave About 1/2 mile west of D.P.high school is there a chance of mandatory evacuations? how far is the fire from that point?

My sister lives on Parkhurst Drive, Goleta. How far is the Whittier fire from her?
The fire is approximately 5 miles from the outskirts of Goleta. It’s tough to be more precise than that with the data that is available. More info, including maps, is here.
