The National Weather Service has issued Red Flag Warnings for areas in Nebraska, Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, and Texas. The forecasts for the affected zones predict strong winds and low humidities.

The Red Flag Warning map was current as of 7:50 a.m. MST on Tuesday. Red Flag Warnings can change throughout the day as the National Weather Service offices around the country update and revise their forecasts.

  1. Yes. New start in Ellis County threatening th town of Catherine with air support dispatched from the Kansas National Guard. Kansas Division of Emergency Management reporting 19 fire suppressed with 12 ongoing. They also have video.
    Wichita NWS radar showing multiple smoke columns in KS and Norhern Oklahoma.

  2. New start 12 miles NW of Hugoton. I-70 closed between Colby and Goodland due to blowing dust.
