  1. Look, lieutenant, this ground is not worth the lives we are going to lose defending it. Besides, they will win it anyway. A platoon Sargent to a young over-eager officer looking to win a medal at the cost of other men’s lives. On the Laos-Vietnam boundary 1969. We all survived. The same lesson applies to wildfire. Pull out and retreat and find a position you can defend and win.
