Granite Mountain Hotshots — Six years ago today

Granite Mountain Hotshots

It was six years ago today, June 30, 2013, that 19 members of the Granite Mountain Hotshots died on the Yarnell Hill Fire south of Prescott, Arizona. May they rest in peace. Our hearts go out to their families and friends.

  1. Just finished watching it. It was so heart breaking. I hope I can be like them one day. Salute to all the brave heroes out there!

  2. It’s unacceptable in this century. I’ve met a student who has created better equipment for firefighters so this doesn’t happen again.

  3. How many times must the lesson be learned, and the “heroes” lauded? Deeply sad for the loved ones, deeply conflicted about the whole dang deal.

  4. Just watched this last night with my son, extremely painful. To say so grateful for those who literally go into the face of the fire is not enough. May the angels protect those who go where no one else dares.
