ESRI has produced a short video that displays the locations wildfires in California over the last 110 years, 1910 to 2019.

UPDATE: a couple of people have pointed out that in the screenshot from the video above, ESRI has the locations of the Ranch and Carr Fires reversed.

  1. It would be interesting to add a layer to see where money has been spent to study, prepare for, and manage fire around the state.

  2. We need more supertankers to do water drops from a safe altitude on wildfires. The water will lower the temperature of the fire and enough of it will extinguish the fire.
