Approximately 300 firefighters from Canada are in Washington and Oregon assisting with the Siege of ’20.

  3. When fires burning in San Jose area badly I asked myself why no helps from other states in the US. Probably we need experienced fire fighters to deal with same type of fires burning now.

  4. Not sure why we are needing Canadians to come help. We still have FFs in our own state that are waiting to be called out. I just got back from the Coldsprings fire yesterday and there were no re-assignments available.

    1. Quit complaining. I would be happy if I were you. Im sure Cal Fire Crews would take them in a min. Also being a retired wildland firefighter I would be happy for the 300 firefighters arriving.

  5. Brothers and sisters from the north. Do Canadian Wildland crews carry shelters? If not will be issued them before they head out to Line? Thoughts and Prayers to everyone out there

    1. Hello Jersey Boy.
      I was deployed 3 times to the USA from Ontario, Canada.
      No, we did not carry shelters in our province.
      Yes, we were trained in their use and issued shelters when we arrived.
