  1. It is quite hazy here in central PA. This morning we could not even see the ridge and mountains that are normally very visible. Prayers for all fighting those fires!

  2. I drove into Chicago from a northern suburb yesterday at 3:30 and the sky was blue. By 5:30 when I was driving back north the blue was gone and the air was hazy and the sun was gone despite the forecast indicating clear blue skies at that very moment. This morning, the sky is a blanket of grey. ?

    1. Every summer in SE Wisconsin we see the haziness from the wildfires out west, Alaska and in Canada. The last two summers I thought someone was burning garbage and a home was on fire only to learn it was from the Canadian wildfires. It has been so hazy here & the air stinks. Another summer of not being able to breathe because my asthma is triggered and I have to stay in my home. Enjoying the outdoors is impossible.

    1. As a Contractor working inside a building with advanced HVAC SYSTEMS at Emerson Helix in Dayton I swear that I could smell the smoke once I left the building at 4:00 pm on 7/20/2021 . After breathing very clean air all day the smoke that I smelled was faint but was unlike anything that I could normally encounter on any given day . I’m thinking it smelled different because of the type of forest the smoke is coming from which I would have to assume many trees that are not native and or associated with central Ohio , seems plausible .
