Insurance ad features wildland firefighter

A new television commercial from Farmers Insurance features “Ricky” who says he is a fireman. Photos in the commercial are from a wildfire.

(THE VIDEO IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE)

Here is a transcript of what “Ricky” says while looking at the camera and holding a small baby:

I’m a fireman. I’m gone sometimes two to four weeks at a time on fires all over the United States. It can get pretty bad to where you can’t see your hand in front of your face. In the line of work that I do being prepared is the number one thing you need to do. My Farmers agent, her name is Maureen Martinez. She’s awesome.

In case something horrible does happen, God forbid, my family will be covered.

You can relax a little bit, because everything else is replaceable, this isn’t.

The title of the commercial is “Being Ready: A True Story from Farmers”, so maybe “Ricky” really is a firefighter. Does anyone know him?
