Prison inmate identified as arsonist of the 2003 Old fire

The person who is suspected of setting the Old fire near San Bernardino, California in 2003 has been identified as 27-year old Rickie Lee Fowler who is presently serving a nine-year sentence for burglary. The Old fire was one of several huge fires that burned at the same time during a Santa Ana wind condition during the fall of 2003 in southern California. It blackened 90,000 acres and caused $42 million in damages. Six people died of stress-related heart attacks as a result of the fire.
