Map of Colorado fires June 24, 2013

The map shows the large fires that are still active and spreading in Colorado. We did not show the Windy Pass Fire, but it is adjacent to the West Fork Fire and has burned about 1,250 acres. More information about those fires and the Papoose Fire, which are all part of the West Fork Complex, can be found HERE.

Firefighters have started to get a handle on many of the fires in the state.

    1. Hey Karen, I live in Durango and the train running to silverton is still going and Durnago has not been affected by the fires other then seeing plums in the distance. Air quality has been really good here even with the fires so close.

If you are coming through Albuquerque you will not need to worry about the fires as you will not be going over wolf creek pass.

The million dollar highway from durango up to silverton, Ouray and Telluride is not affected at all.

  1. My family is planning a trip to Durango and riding the train from Telluride. We will be driving in from Texas. Are these areas being affected and what site do we need to watch for updates on roadways and evacuations so we can cancel or stay away from the areas? Thanks for any information.
