  1. I was interested in this article as Editor of Smokejumper magazine, I have never heard of Johnny “Coldwater” Yount. No one by that name is listed in the National Smokejumper database. Then I ordered the book–after reading the section on smoke jumping it was obvious that “Johnny” had never been a smokejumper. Have been trying to get “Coldwater” on the phone and the internet for an interview to make sure we haven’t missed someone with such a career. He hasn’t replied. Has “Coldwater” gotten “Coldfeet?” Wonder how authentic the rest of his story is? This guy is a frequent contributor–take a grain of salt with anything that he writes.
