Makes one wonder why they still employ solo Lead pilots instead of simply adopting the ASM model universally. It enhances safety, efficiency and situational awareness when there are two qualified people sharing a cockpit in the low-level environment. Even the most experienced Lead pilots become overworked on a regular basis.
In my opinion, a decent air attack overhead can make the most tangled fire a smooth pleasure to work.
