The air tanker base at Moses Lake, Washington has been extremely this summer. They have set a new record for the number of gallons of retardant pumped in a season and the month of August is not even over yet. So far they have put 1.9 million gallons of the mud in aircraft, shattering the previous record of 1.4 million that stood since 2001.

Is Tanker 162 (shown in the video) replacing one of Tankers 160 or 161 or has it been brought down as the 3rd RJ in the US? Tanker 162 (flown by Canadian pilots) dropped on fires in British Columbia a couple of weeks ago, marking the first operational use of the airtanker type in Canada.
It was brought down because one of the contract machines was having tank problems
