Video of prescribed fire in Australia’s Northern Territory

This video of what is probably a prescribed fire in Australia is oddly relaxing. You can almost smell the smoke as you gaze at vegetation and animals from down under.

Here is the description from YouTube:

    1. Linda-

I know what you are saying and no doubt most people feel the same way. But as a person who worked full time in the field of wildland fire for 30+ years, viewing a video of a slow-moving prescribed fire with relaxing background music while snow is on the ground outside my window, brings back many fond memories.

If that was a typical prescribed fire in the video, there were probably a number of firefighters nearby casually leaning on their combi-tools while they were watching for spot fires.

And, the fact that it got down to -17 F at my house last night makes the thought of a fire even more palatable!
