Red Flag Warnings in 5 states, March 5, 2018

The National Weather Service has issued Red Flag Warnings for areas in Nebraska, Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas. The forecasts for the affected zones predict strong winds gusting to 45 mph, and in some areas up to 65 mph. The relative humidity will drop into the teens.

These conditions will present challenges for firefighters in areas that are experiencing extreme drought, such as Kansas, Texas, and Oklahoma.

Red Flag Warning for Southern California

A moderate to strong Santa Ana wind condition is in the forecast through Monday

The National Weather Service has issued Red Flag Warnings for the Southern California coastal and mountain areas for Saturday morning through Monday evening. Forecasters expect northeast winds of  25 to 35 mph gusting to 55 or higher with a relative humidity as low as 8 to 18 percent.

The counties affected include San Bernardino, Riverside, San Diego, Ventura, Orange, and Los Angeles.

Red Flag Warnings, January 26, 2018

The National Weather Service has issued Red Flag Warnings for portions of Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas. Forecasters expect northwest winds of 15 to 25 mph gusting to 35 with a relative humidity as low as 12 percent.

A Fire Weather Watch is in effect for strong winds beginning Saturday evening lasting until Monday night in Los Angeles and Ventura Counties in Southern California. The forecast is for 15 to 25 percent relative humidity with 25 to 35 mph northeast winds gusting at 45 to 55 mph.

Red Flag Warnings December 20, 2017

Red Flag Warnings have been issued for portions of California, Nevada, and Arizona today. One of the areas affected is the western part of the Thomas Fire in Santa Barbara County where the winds will be northwest to northeast at 15 to 30 mph with gusts to 50 while the relative humidity lowers to 20 to 40 percent.

Red Flag Warning December 17 2017 CaliforniaRed Flag Warnings have been issued for portions of California today. In Los Angeles and Ventura Counties northeast winds of 25 to 40 mph with gusts to 60 mph will continue into the afternoon while humidities will lower to 10 to 15 percent today.
