National Guard helicopters fight fires in Indiana

The Indiana National Guard has started to aggressively suppress fires that have been burning since October 21 when aircraft flares or ammunition ignited the fires on Camp Atterbury near Edinburgh, Indiana . The Guard’s Blackhawk helicopters are using 660-gallon water buckets to put out the fires that have burned 2,400 acres over the last three weeks.

The National Guard is feeling pressure from businesses and local residents that have been complaining about the smoke.
