The pregnant singer Jewel was in a car that was struck by a fire truck responding to a brush fire on Friday. She was taken to a hospital and the doctors said she and the unborn baby are doing fine. Friday night she Tweeted:

Hey everyone-just got released from the ER & my Dr’s office- everything is fine-me & the baby r ok- thanx 4 all your thoughts & prayers.

The accident occurred on highway 67 near Stephenville, Texas at 11 a.m. Friday when a Harbin Volunteer Fire Department brush engine driven by Erath County Commissioner Jim Pack struck the passenger side of the car, according to the Stephenville Empire-Tribune.

The fire department was first commissioned by Erath County in 2009.

Jewel is married to rodeo star Ty Murray, and they live on a ranch outside of Stephenville, Texas.
