Sculpture at the Camp Fire

The Camp Fire spread quickly into the town of Paradise, California last November. It burned over 153,000 acres, destroyed 18,804 structures, and resulted in 85 fatalities.

  1. PG&E accidentally started the Camp Fire that burned Paradise to the ground and it “accidentally” cut down the 150-year-old pine tree from which this beautiful sculpture is carved. I wonder if PG&E’s bankruptcy is an accident, too?

  2. WOW!! Really beautiful work. Wood is such an incredible resource. I revere wood in all its forms ….trees to lumber to fire wood …. and functions and the significance it plays in all our lives. I think far too many people take it for granted, if they even see it at all for what it truly is and what it represents. Paradise. Hmm.
